As we’ve said, we’re bridging past and present this time around, linking the dark days of the war for Cybertron, as depicted in our previous Transformers titles, with the live-action films of Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, which told the saga on Earth. If you’ve seen the Transformers films, you know there’s recently been an opening for a leadership position among the Decepticons. A new villain will emerge in the game and in the upcoming film Transformers: Age of Extinction. He’s a mysterious Transformers mercenary who’s observed the war from afar, waiting for the perfect chance to strike. He is tactical, calculating and a dangerous new adversary for the Autobots and humanity. It's slightly less annoying to open Gear Boxes while preparing your character for the online co-op Escalation mode, which is sort of a microcosm for the mode itself. Pitting you and up to three teammates against 15 waves of progressively more difficult enemies on eight well-designed maps, there's a sense of urgency in Escalation, whether it be as you race to revive a teammate or scour the map to replenish or replace a weapon running low on ammo. Escalation doesn't have the epic boss encounters of Gears of War's Horde mode, the alternate objectives of Mass Effect 3, or the insane extraction endings of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare's Garden Ops, but it's still the most entertaining part of Rise of the Dark Spark. Graphically it's a waste on the PS4 but i'm more of a gameplay man & i'v really enjoyed the campaign so far and already poured countless hours into the online mode with other Transformers fans. Or are you just upset that you had to buy a game for once because Activision didn't send you copies and this is your petty revenge? Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a crossover with the Transformers film franchise and the Cybertron video game series, the latter consisting of Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. The Cybertron universe component of the game takes place before the events of Fall of Cybertron, while its film series universe component takes place on Earth in 2014, continuing Transformers: Dark of the Moon and ignoring Transformers: Age of Extinction. That's just me saying my piece though I'm not firing shots I just think the game is being unfairly bashed due to the Bayformers tie in.

It's on-par with or even above War for Cybertron campaign-quality-wise, and it has the best Escalation mode so far. Dang. Activision is tearing it up this year.
