About this deal

Natalie invites Kage out on a date with her friend Sloane & Sloane’s current flavor of the month & his friends. Upon entering the restaurant, it’s obvious Kage is well aware of who these men with Sloane are & the girls can tell something’s off. At the restaurant gunfire erupts & from that point on…secrets about who Kage really is slowly start to surface & that’s when the fireworks between Kage & Natalie start to go off & you get to the JUICY part of the book. That’s what I always tell myself when I’m not feeling one hundred percent. Remember who you are.” I can tell he doesn’t want to ask, but curiosity gets the better of him. Five years have passed since the wedding day Natalie Peterson was supposed to have. The day before the wedding that never was, her fiancé disappeared without a trace. Since that day Natalie has been plagued with questions, why did he leave? Where did he go? Did I do something wrong? Is he alive? Kage awakens Natalie’s dormant libido and once she gives in to his touch, it brings out the sexy, temptress side of her. Natalie is fierce, feisty, sassy and strong which is good as the road to HEA is no walk in the park.

As you can tell the banter and the heroine in this were truly magnificent. So magnificent it was almost enough to distract me from the disaster that was this plot. I am not gonna talk about it because it was literal chaos and not in a good way. Everything came outta nowhere, for no reason, I can't even summarise this book to you people because it'll sound like I'm trolling. Every time they have sex, he asks her something and she answers by saying “Sir” or “Master”. And he says, “Good girl!” That’s so not my scene! Every time she said that, I wanted to puke. This book can standalone, although really, and this is from someone who doesn’t like to read series, you will love it all the more if you read the previous books. However, you can’t go wrong with them either. This does end with a nice epilogue that sets us up for the next book and oh my gosh!!! I cannot wait to see what’s in store for HIM!!!

Customer reviews

I thought this book was gonna surpass the first. I ended up disappointed but on the bright side I now like the first book better. Sloane props herself up on her elbows and gazes at me thoughtfully. “We might be looking at this the wrong way.”

The book begins with a scene that continues from Book 1 so if you haven’t read Book 1, don’t start the series with this one, read Book 1 first. If you love a sizzling hot mafia romance with an uber alpha to die for and a sassy and strong willed heroine to challenge him at every turn, welcome to your next addiction. This book was all of the things! I cannot recommend it enough. Yes. My creative writing teacher in college described my aggrandizement of language as incredible." (Riley) I laugh. “Good one. How long did it take you to figure out how to use the internet to look that up, Grandpa?” When fire meets fire, it’s going to burn brightly. A woman in self preservation mode and a King who will steal her heart. She may not want to relinquish control but there can only be one master in the bedroom, and it will be him, one spank at a time.

Sloane is kidnapped by the Irish mafia because she inadvertently started a mafia war. She is confident, intelligent, sassy and can handle herself in any situation. Declan is the new appointed head of the Irish mafia and plans to use her against their enemies. However, he does not know what he is in for! When complications arise Declan and Sloane must work together to survive. I loved how Sloane was able to charm the men who worked for Declan. Their relationship takes a turn and Declan begins to fall for her but Sloane protects her heart and takes longer to confess her feelings and trust him.

I'm weird like that, but I'm counting how long it takes until the main characters meet and interact for the first time. That's why I know it took 15% til Riley and Malek interact. It doesn't sound that long, but it felt like forever. Idk if that's the reason why their romance was just 'okay', but I still liked some of their earlier banter.Natalie was a feisty, smart mouthed character, although some of her choices weren’t the smartest at times.

Riley's characters gave me whiplash, because in one chapter she reminds me of a mini Sloane with her flair for exaggerations and witty responses, but then in other chapters when she's talking about Sloane she was so judgy and annoying. Malek is a ghost. A hired assassin and extremely lethal. Now avenging the death of his brother, he's unhinged and unstoppable. Dead inside, it all changes from the minute he spots and approaches Riley. Any rationality he may have possessed is gone.

Why is Kage keep popping up with his own pov. Dude go have babies with Natalie, you're not that relevant. He rolls on top of me, clamps a hand over my mouth, and growls, “Introduce your top lip to your lower one for a change. And. Be. Quiet.” The mafia part is starting to get ridiculous so i'm convinced that the author is trolling us. This series is like a parody of mafia books.
