degree in 80, 90, 100, 110, and 120mm lengths (in both standard 1 1/8" steerer and the non-standard oversized 1 1/4" steerer which matches most Canyon and some Giant bikes) The Fasst Flexx Enduro handlebar is intended to reduce rider fatigue and arm pump, allowing you to ride faster, longer, further and with more control. While it is primarily designed for mountain biking, there is no reason why it wouldn’t suit other flat bar bikes too.

In general, you'll find the +30 deg stem provides a more upright, comfort-oriented fit, whereas the +/-6 deg stem puts you in a more performance-oriented riding position (standard for a typical road bike). they failed at the pivot. You don't want that to happen. Hopefully the different design here isolates them degree in 80, 90, 100, 110, and 120mm lengths (in both standard 1 1/8" steerer and oversized 1 1/4" steerer)

Mythos Elix Stem

So here goes, having made the decision to buy the stem I could be a little bias so I’m going to be deliberately critical to ensure you all get a good balanced idea. BMC’s solution though is a bit wider and boxier for improved stiffness, spins on wide-set sealed bearings, and also includes BMC’s integrated faceplate GPS/GoPro out front mount. One advantage that the Kinekt stem has over the RedShift model is that the Kinekt’s parallelogram design allows the movement to be directly in line with the fork, whereas the RedShift stem pivots as it compresses, changing the angle of the bars slightly. When riding with the RedShift stem, I haven’t found this to be very noticeable, even when riding on the brake lever hoods with drop bars, which is the situation in which the pivoting has the most effect, so this characteristic doesn’t bother me, but it again gives a slight comfort advantage to the Kinekt stem. Even though all Redshift products pass the ISO 4210 tests with margin, all aluminum components are subject to fatigue failure over a sufficiently long period of use. Hours ridden, riding conditions, and rider weight are all significant factors that make it impossible to declare an exact lifespan for any given product. After solving this unique problem for triathletes, they turned their attention to suspension and anti-vibration stems and seatposts. At the time of writing the seatpost is being crowdfunded, but the stem has been available for quite a few months, and we wanted to give you our low-down on the product.

mm is common on older road bikes with drop handlebars. - There are other less common sizes that we do not provide shims for. However, other handlebar shim sizes may be available at your local bike shop. The main difference between a suspension fork and stem is that only your hands and upper body are suspended with a suspension stem. This is great for keeping you comfortable, but it will only minimally improve your bike’s performance. Although the eeSilk stem may have had a bumpy road getting here, what Cane Creek ended up with works really well (and certainly looks a lot better).

Will the stem bounce or flex when I am climbing out of the saddle or sprinting?

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

There is also a noticeable difference in weight, compared to a standard stem weighing 100-200 grams, the RedShift stem weighs almost 300 grams and the Kinekt stem almost 500 grams. As Kinekt claim, this is a lot lighter than a suspension fork (regular suspension forks weight about 1.3-2.0 kg and the carbon Lauf fork is just under 1 kg, compared to a rigid carbon fork at 300-700 grams). I would again choose the RedShift stem based on this characteristic because you can gain a decent amount of comfort while adding a much smaller amount of weight than with the Kinekt stem. Installation was very easy, if you can fit a normal stem then the only thing to think about are the elastomers, I’m 70kg so went for the blue/orange set up which was already fitted. The instructions are very clear, in fact pretty much idiot proof so long as you read them properly (RTFI) Read The Flippin Instructions. The stem came with the elastomers fitted for a 6 deg rise, to reverse and get a 6 deg drop you also need to move the elastomers to the top, no big deal and this is made very clear in the instructions. Also fitting the stem to the bike before playing with the elastomers was made clear and made it very easy to refit the wedge. The Freeqence uses an elastomer-spring setup with 30mm of travel, which can be adjusted to accommodate riders from 50kg through to 120kg. While coil-spring stems like the Kinekt are highly reactive over fast bumps, the Freeqence should feel a bit more ‘muted’ in comparison, as the properties of elastomers have more inherent damping. Ride faster - feeling refreshed from the energy that is normally wasted suspending your body as it is converted into forward motion Cane Creek has just released a new model called the eeSilk+, which has about twice the suspension travel (35mm). Being elastomer-based, you get the advantage of it feeling quite ‘muted’ on smooth surfaces, but with the boost in travel, the eeSilk+ can isolate your body from even bigger holes and depressions. For looks, quality and attention to detail I will give the stem 9.5 out of 10 (.5 lost for the boxy look) Less muscle fatigue equals to more performance and or more time you can spend doing the best thing in the world In comparison, a suspension fork suspends not only your upper body but the front of your bike too. This improves your front-wheel grip and makes for a more stable bike on rough roads. The downside to suspension forks is that they add weight, complexity and the need for regular service intervals.
