Ideally shampoo the hair once a week with your Silver Shine Shampoo. As with all professional shampoos, we recommend to shampoo the hair twice. The first shampoo can be lathered into the hair and then rinsed thoroughly. Repeat for the second cleanse. This is when the shampoo can be left on longer for the colour pigments to penetrate the hair. The longer the shampoo is left on, the ashier the tone will be.

Always use a flat headed soft bristle brush. With small sections of hair, gently brush from the bonds to the ends of the hair. It is important that you do not comb between the scalp and the bond, separate the bonds with your fingers to prevent matting.Remember that styling products should only be applied to the lengths and ends of your hair and never to the GL Pre-Bonded or GL tapes itself. Do not shampoo your hair for at least 48 hours after you get your extensions applied by your hairstylist. This time will allow GL Pre-Bonded or GL Tapes to set. For the regular care, it is recommended to shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week, and be careful: never wash your hair with your head upside down - always keep your head upright! Do not towel dry your hair with a scrubbing motion, always dab your hair with the towel and wrap your hair in a towel to remove excess moisture. At night, tie your hair in a loose ponytail or a braid to prevent tangling and always choose a silk pillow to avoid friction.

Always dry your hair thoroughly, do not leave it to dry naturally as hair is at its most vulnerable when wet. Blow dry on a low heat, starting at the roots and the attachment areas of GL Pre-Bonded or GL Tapes and working downwards with a GL Brush. Straighteners, heated rollers and tongs can be used on your hair but they must be kept away from the bonds.

Gently de-tangle your hair before drying, following the brushing recommendations in this article. Towel dry your hair with a soft pressure, but never with a rubbing motion. Instead, use a blotting motion and wrap your hair in a towel to remove excess water. Silver shine shampoo is a maintenance essential. Naturally, blonde tones will become warmer over time. This is largely due to the natural hair being darker than the blonde tone it has been changed too. To reduce this warmth from building up in the hair, use once a week.
