About this deal

But poor Alfie has got lost and he's scared - of thunderstorms and being hungry and never seeing Charlie again .

No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. My dog has been a big hit in the class and the children enjoy reading to her and she enjoys all the attention. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.Initially, I think she was not enthusiastic, and me neither, as we didn't find the initial drawings of the dog with his different ear positions funny, and I was scared that this would be a silly, boring book. Teddy Roosevelt wrote that some Canadian and American hunters used "the greyhound, whether the smooth-haired, or the rough-coated Scotch deer-hound" on the wolf [6] and deer [7] Dr. Use audio recording equipment to interview each of the characters in the story about their adventure. With the help of some friendly foxes, Alfie learns to live in the wild, but he never stops thinking of Charlie. The Worst Witch stories have become some of the most outstandingly successful titles on the Young Puffin paperback list and have sold more than 3 million copies.

It's amusing reading and useful two, because it will explain a great deal about what happens to Charlie over the next few months. Find out about the animals in the story (Alfie – Deerhound, Sunset and Fixit – Foxes, Florence and Humbug – Cats). Featuring irresistible black-and-white line drawings on every spread, Dear Hound is both an accessible, heartwarming story and the perfect choice for readers graduating out of early chapter books. Meanwhile, Charlie doesn't know what to do - but one thing is for sure: he'll never stop looking for his dear hound. Written and illustrated by Jill Murphy, the creator of the much-loved Worst Witch series and picture book classics such as Peace at Last and The Large Family.

However, Jill continued working as a nanny until the publication of The Worst Witch Strikes Again prompted her to devote herself to full-time writing. As a child I found this book okay, I loved almost any book about any dog back then but this was a exception I personally found it boring and not that good. She is also well known for her picture books and was commended in the 1980 Kate Greenaway Medal for Peace at Last. Very importantly there were at least one, often more, charming pencil illustrations on every page to hold his attention whilst I read. However, one chapter in and I realised I actually wanted to find out what happened next and so did my daughter.
