About this deal

That morning earl grey my grandfather drank at that old wooden table in his house in Illinois, before the sun had even come up. This lighter touch is, for me, anyway, also relatable to newer formulations I’ve tried of Azzaro in that I cannot really detect a leather as such, though the smoothness of labdanum and the cool, dank rustle of oakmoss (the real thing, halfway through the ingredients list on the back of the box) help to hold a place for the idea. Devin leans more towards the masculine side, but there is a slight “feminine” element lurking there.

The pine note is the real stand-out for me: it is not a hackneyed Isobornyl Acetate heavy accord but rather a more dynamic pine of needles, resins, sap, bark, wood. This one is ok, herbal green with animalistic notes, I could smell something like civet although its not mentioned in the notes breakdown. Smells of animal notes but in a good way, like your own skin with a perfumed leather like gloves old fashioned 18th century riding gloves made of real horse leather. anyways, the Devin was there, and the counter door was open, so i had to take it out and spray a squirt on the back of my hand. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons.I am aware that today reformulation is weaker then original one, but there is always vintage edition to be found. Because of that, this scent to me is just a curiosity; a very good fragrance that they wore back in the 1970s. The carnation, cinnamon, labdanum, and amber add a smooth sweetness to it that prevents it from being dirty. A particular point, Devin filters out the rich and expansive aspect of galbanum while keeping the sweetness, which, without the compensatory resinousness, appears saccharine sweet, like a shrill whisper. Profoundly green with a chypre undertone, a super warm, sunny-meadow heart, with thickness of jasmine and honey and yet not sweet.

At first I much preferred Devin to Polo Green, but after wearing it almost daily for a few months, I'm not so sure. Since everything in terms of fashion rotates from time to time, I am just waiting for Devin to become men's choice again. There is something similarly animalic and a bit rubbery lurking around, be it civet or indolic jasmine, but it's very well behaved and all the comparisons to horse manure and other "horsey" or "fecal" fantasies are totally beyond me.Criticisms aside, there's no denying this is a lovely fragrance in its own right, the sort of thing you never have to worry about. Anyhow, I dissed the Aramis line for a long time but now that I have discovered, I am in love with their scents!
