They mention that it comes from the best whisky producers in the world, is very nicely done and has a floral and light element. Many years ago you could get a 12yr old version of this for very sensible money, but I think they may have started to run out of aged barrels due to how popular it became.

Hibiki 12 Year Old blended Japanese whisky is a gem among whisky enthusiasts, showcasing the art of Japanese whisky blending at its finest. This fine blend of malt and grain whisky has created a blend which has a floral nose, with a sweet orange palate and a long subtle finish with just a hint of Japanese oak.Comprising of single malts from Hakushu and Yamazaki along with aged grain from the Chita distillery this blend has won many awards over the years. Born on April 3, 1989 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Suntory Corporation, Hibiki was created to be the face of Suntory blended whisky. The production process is very similar to that for Scotch whisky, and the product is the closest in style to Scotch of all non-Scotch whisky. The 2021 limited edition bottle design of Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a thoughtful homage to the Ryusui-Hyakka, which translates to “One-Hundred Flowers and Flowing Water.

I’d definitely say the hibiki doesn’t really taste like a “true whisky” but at the same time it definitely is a whisky- sounds contradictory but hear me out.The Hibiki 21-Year-Old is indeed a seductive and sublime whisky that embodies the pinnacle of Japanese whisky craftsmanship. Hand-made Echizen paper has been printed four times and completes the noble bottle design, but not only the bottle convinces with this product. They are a harmonious blend of Suntory’s Yamazaki and Hakashu malt whiskies and Chita grain whisky that resound with calm complexity and “Wa”; oneness.

Crafted by the Suntory Whisky blending team, led by Master Blender Shingo Torii, it's an elegant expression, with notes of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two and light oak. I thought it will be very different than Scottish whisky and maybe not good enough but it was a big surprise for me, something new but still whisky and really nice one. Hibiki, meaning “resonance” was launched in 1989 to commemorate Suntory’s 90th anniversary, and has ever since been embraced as the paragon of The Art of Japanese Whisky, the very product of Japanese nature and her people. A delicate and well balanced expression that is both subtle and complex, crafted with more than 10 malt and grain whiskies to create a harmony of flavours and aromas. The core range includes Hibiki Japanese Harmony, Hibiki 12 Years Old, Hibiki 17 Years Old, Hibiki 21 Years Old, and Hibiki 30 Years Old.

Inspired by a traditional kimono pattern, the bottle is embellished with the tabane-noshi, a traditional Japanese symbol of celebration that has often adorned precious gifts since ancien.
