She’s not full-on “Catwoman” - but she’s definitely a master thief who isn’t above stealing from the rich or corrupt to line her own pockets. This film goes back to the Detective Comics roots and its style as well as comes in the style of film noir, which is exclusively fitting for a true detective story in the dark setting of the fictional “Gotham City”— in both a literal [visual] and metaphorical sense.For my part, I loved The Batman, gleefully going to see it at IMAX three times in as many weeks ahead of its arrival on HBO Max where I've honestly lost track how many times I've watched it. Now Reeves might be the one filmmaker that started it out with perhaps the worst movie ever made ( The Pallbearer) but then created some of the best films of recent memory ( Cloverfield and the last two entries of the Planet of the Apesprequel trilogy). The Dolby Vision pass has a lot of work to do with the black levels and it handles the load magnificently. But like any true noir story, the detectives must have a keen sense of their surroundings and solving crimes. There is about 91 minutes worth of bonus features here with some great behind-the-scenes looks at how the show was made and some voice-work.

With Matt Reeves' new vision of The Batman and Robert Pattinson wearing the cape and cowl, that answer is an overwhelmingly and loud "YES" for a smattering of reasons. Then you have the guttural screeching engine of the Batmobile punching LFE nicely on top of several key sequences throughout the film. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator's plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

Working at The Penguin’s nightclub you find a troubled young woman named “Selina Kyle” ( Zoe Kravitz) that has her own bit of backstory and nightlife that will involve her crossing paths with The Batman. Anatomy of the Wing Suit Jump” (6 minutes, 29 seconds – HD) involves a stunt in the film and gives you a glimpse at how it went from idea to reality via the use of drone photography and the ILM Stagecraft LED Volume system.

The Batman” is the latest film featuring “The Caped Crusader” (or “The Dark Knight”) but this time around he went more by what most remember the character citing from the comics: “ Vengeance. Vengeance Meets Justice“ (8 minutes, 4 seconds – HD) focuses on the character of “The Riddler” and how actor Paul Dano extensively thought out his portrayal. The Batman” was a 2022 film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. Alfred has done everything he can to help Bruce cope with the loss and seems to be encouraging in his efforts to be a masked vigilante but he wants to protect him from things and not just criminals. The performances here are excellent and without that none of what Reeves had put together would have culminated as it does.Commissioner Gordon here is a smart man, who always goes by the book, and is fair, honest, and dependable. Yes, this is a very visually dark film and the addition of forms of high dynamic range only adds to that darkness but in a realistic manner. With being the best visually looking Batman movie, and some of the best performances to date, along with its different take on the story - The Batman is a MUST-SEE!
